Dharamsala TC 25 hour suspension yoga teacher training

Join us for this 25 hour teacher training in Suspension Yoga which incorporates a yoga trapeze/swing.  You will learn to use the trapeze/swing in creating postures, planning classes, and teaching yoga in a whole new way!  You will discover how the yoga trapeze/swing can help students in posture alignment, increase strength and flexibility, and restore and relax.  

Course Description

Upon completion of this course with Lisa Reehorst, ERYT-200 RYT-500, you will be presented with a 25 hour certificate of completion along with the knowledge, skill set, and understanding of the following:

  • What is Suspension Yoga, history and foundations
  • Safety Precautions including set up, entering and exiting the trapeze/swing, and contraindications
  • Posture Clinics – exploring yoga postures using the trapeze/swing.  Clinics will address strength, core, mobility, asana, back bends, and inversion postures.
  • Anatomy & Physiology (anterior and posterior chain)
  • Philosophy (mini workshop with pranayama, yamas and niyamas)
  • Teaching Methodology (class planning, sequencing tips, and learning styles)
  • Practice in teaching (15 minute and 30 minute student led classes)
  • Special circumstances and modifications

Lisa Reehorst

Lisa Reehorst

Lisa fell in love with the practice of yoga over fifteen years ago when she participated in a hot yoga class. What she discovered was not only the physical aspects of gaining strength, flexibility and improvement of balance, but also and more importantly, the mental benefits that flourish with a consistent yoga practice including mindfulness, stress release, clarity, and self-acceptance.

What began as a one month trial of classes, soon developed into a life long journey of humbly practicing breath, asana, self-awareness, and positivity. An instructor of ballet, modern and musical theatre dance for over twenty-five years, Lisa has thoroughly enjoyed the addition of yoga guidance to her repertoire.

She began her yoga studies under Jenny Lintvedt in 2014, and has since studied with Marion Mugs McConnell, Janet Stone, Stephanie Lynn, Kelly Stiglich, Leslie Simionescu, and others. She is a 200 E-RYT, 500 RYT certified instructor through Yoga Alliance and also holds teaching certifications in Yin and SUP yoga.
